Hola!
Reviews about how to learn spanish software are interesting to read before buying any spanish learning programs.
First reason is that you sure do not want to waste any money on something that is obviously not good, simple as that.
Second reason is that you want a software that fits your needs. You have to decide if you want something really elaborate or you just need a product to get some basic spanish learning over a week-end to impress few friends type of thing.
Third reason is that you want to read some feedbacks and testimonials. It is always good to have some proofs from real people that tried the products before you do.
Fourth reason is that you want a spanish software with some garanties regarding the possible refunds. You have to be able to try the program and if in any case for whathever reason you do not like it, you can return it and get your money back. No questions asked.
You see, software reviews are important for these reasons and few more depending of the product you are about to buy.
I myself always enjoy a good review about a product or service I am about to buy. Many times over, the reviews I had read about a product, had either completely changed my mind about it or on the contrary had reinforced my confidence. All because I took the time to search and read reviews regarding that specific item that I was ready to buy.
So I strongly encourage you to read reviews. Learn Spanish softwares are numerous and the idea behind it is not finding the most expensive or the cheapest spanish software but the one that will be exactly what you need. Buying a cheap spanish program can be expensive if after a while, because of the poor quality, you just leave it to collect dust on your hard disk or HD player.
Learning spanish can be a lot of fun actually. I can talk about my own experience if you want. Last year I got a call from my friend Veronica. She is a funny and sympathic girl that likes to travel a lot. So on that call she told me that she just saw a great documentary about Spain and she instantly fell in love with the people and the sceneries she just saw. She was so excited that she decided to go travel across Spain for two weeks beginning of July. She asked me to accompany her on that trip. We both are teachers at the same school, so summer is the perfect time for both of us to enjoy travelling. I said yes.
Now the next step was finding a way to learn some spanish so we could get around in a unknown country speaking a foreign language. We both like to travel on our own and going where the usual tourist don’t go. We had 2 months ahead of us to prepare ourselves.
We first looked for the free stuff of course. We found a few sites with free spanish learning help but they were not well organised and structured like we needed to be for our 2 months language learning deadline.
After searching and reading a lot of reviews of about 12 serious spanish learning softwares, we ended up with the 2 best possible spanish programs choices.
But, Veronica and I, just couldn’t decide which one to buy. They both had raving reviews. One was Spanish Visual, a well known company with just a bit more expensive product, the other one was Rocket Spanish. less expensive and well known as well. Both product reviews were great. So we decided to buy both! Veronica would learn spanish with Spanish Visual and I would be learning spanish with Rocket Spanish. Then we would test our new skills and see if there was any big differences between the two by using our spanish while travelling across Spain.
So what happened after the 2 months of intensive spanish learning? I can tell you that both of us were ready and confident to test our new spanish. On a side note, during the two months training, I felt that I had a small advantage over Veronica because I could practice my spanish while driving.
Since I love driving around the city, that was a feature I really enjoyed. Veronica couldn’t, but on the other hand, she was amazed by the quality of the software and would spend hours on her computer having fun learning spanish. That was quite an advantage too.

So anyways we went to Spain and spent 2 amazing weeks in this beautiful country. Most of our great moments came when we realized that we were both able to communicate almost fluently with the inhabitants of the small villages we visited. Of course on some occasions they made us repeat but it was not because of the wrong wording but mostly because of our accent!
Speaking a foreign language, spanish or any other languages, is a matter of picking up the right accent so you can be well understood. I would say that you can learn fairly rapidly any languages with the proper software, but picking up the right accent is something that takes a bit more time.

The real fun is (or the real test I should say) is when you are travelling in old countries far away from the streams of tourists and you meet older people that are not used hearing spanish spoken with a touch of foreign intonation. If they can understand you on the first try you are doing a great job!
Our travel to Spain was so much more intense by being able to share a regular conversation with the spanish people. We strongly encourage you to learn some basic spanish if you go to Spain or Mexico. People will really appreciate that you are taking the time to speak their language. You will see in their smile that they are greateful.
So what is the verdic regarding the difference between the two spanish learning softwares that we tried? Spanish Visual or Rocket Spanish. Well after testing the product in the field we both agreed that the main difference between the two was mostly the price since the result was that we both could enjoy speaking spanish with the locals without any difficulties. I noticed that Veronica had a bit more adjectives than me while speaking but then again I think that it is because she is naturally a more expressive and colorfull person than me.
People listening to us could understand our spanish amazingly well. We had the proper vocabulary needed to get around the country without any problem, which after all was the main reason.
Just thinking that a few months earlier we were not able to use nor to speak any spanish at all still amazes me to this day. Now, Veronica and I, when we speak over the phone we like to switch to spanish to keep our skills up because we are planning to travel to Mexico during Christmas Holidays. Youppee!
